This week on Covered In Style, we’re mastering and rewearing outfits that we already have.

In a world that glorifies “newness,” we’re slowing things down and giving our closets the main character moment they deserve. It’s not a crime to rewear the clothes you have. It’s a skill.

Whether it’s remixing your favorite blazer three different ways or finding ten new reasons to love that go-to abaya, we’re celebrating the girls who know how to make old pieces feel brand new. Because true style isn’t about how much you own. It’s about how well you wear it.

Plus, don’t miss this week’s challenge, where we’ll show you how to master the art of styling the same pieces in fresh, unexpected ways..

Let’s get into it →

Meet Asma Shakar — a Philly-born creative (yes, we’re finally taking Covered In Style out of state for this one!) whose effortless blend of simplicity and sophistication has us all taking notes. As a stylist, Asma doesn’t just dress others. She curates looks that tell stories, for herself and for anyone lucky enough to be styled by her.

What we love most about Asma? She’s not afraid to rewear. And not just rewear. REIMAGINE. She’ll take that maxi skirt you’ve been side-eyeing in your closet and turn it into fifteen completely different looks, each one better than the last. Her style philosophy challenges the idea that outfit repetition is something to avoid; instead, she reminds us that confidence is the best accessory you can pair with any fit. Especially one you already own.

This week, we sat down with Asma to get her insider tips on how to show up confidently, rewearing what’s in your closet, and making it feel brand new again. Because fashion fades, but great styling (and a little attitude) never goes out of style.

The theme for this week is Rewear. What inspired you to start rewearing and restyling your pieces instead of constantly buying new ones?

I realized I didn’t need to constantly buy new things to feel inspired by my wardrobe. Rewearing and restyling pieces let me express creativity in a more intentional way. It’s about making the most out of what I already love instead of chasing what’s next.

If you had to pick one item in your closet you’ve reworn the most, what is it, and how many ways have you styled it?

My black maxi bubble skirt. I absolutely love it and I’ve styled it at least five different ways. It pairs well with all my shoes, the length is perfect, and it helps me keep my outfits modest without losing style.

Some people think rewearing means “boring.” How do you keep your outfits looking fresh and elevated each time?

Rewearing pieces is far from boring, one piece has endless potential. I think it actually highlights your creativity and sense of style. To keep things fresh, I switch up my accessories, play with color schemes, and sometimes flip the entire aesthetic of the outfit.

What’s one simple styling trick that instantly transforms an old piece into something that feels brand new?

Changing how I style it, pairing it with something unexpected or layering it differently, always makes it feel new again. Even switching the setting, like dressing it up instead of keeping it casual, can completely transform the vibe.

How has embracing rewearing changed your relationship with fashion and modesty? Has it made you more intentional with what you buy or how you dress?

Embracing rewearing has honestly made me fall in love with my wardrobe again. It’s pushed me to be more creative and intentional. I think more about versatility instead of trends. It’s also deepened my connection to modest fashion because it’s less about showing something new and more about showing confidence and elegance through how I carry myself.

For Asma, rewearing isn’t a limitation. It’s liberation. It’s a love language between her and her wardrobe, one built on creativity, confidence, and intention. “I realized I didn’t need to constantly buy new things to feel inspired by my wardrobe,” she shares. “Rewearing and restyling pieces let me express creativity in a more intentional way.”

Her black maxi bubble skirt? A certified icon. Styled at least five different ways, it’s proof that when you love a piece, you’ll always find new ways to make it shine. “It pairs well with everything and helps me keep my outfits modest without losing style,” she says — and honestly, we see why it’s the star of her closet.

She plays with color schemes, accessories, and even flips entire aesthetics to keep her looks feeling brand new. “One piece has endless potential,” she adds, reminding us that fashion doesn’t start with what’s new, but with how you see what you already own.

Through rewearing, Asma has redefined her relationship with fashion and modesty: moving with intention, confidence, and grace. “It’s less about showing something new and more about showing elegance through how I carry myself.”

So this week’s challenge? Rewear it, remix it, and reimagine it. We’re channeling our inner Asma and challenging ourselves to fall back in love with what’s already in our closets.

Here’s how to get started:

  • Pick one go-to piece. Maybe it’s that maxi skirt, your favorite blazer, or your staple abaya.

  • Style it three different ways. Casual, elevated, and unexpected.

  • Reimagine your finds. Add a pop of color, switch up your bag, or layer creatively.

Share your rewear moment. Tag us @veiledvisionaries_ so we can spotlight your looks this week.

Because confidence isn’t in what’s new — it’s in how you make it yours, again and again.

xoxo,
