Veiled Visionaries Volunteering & Sadaqah

Afternoons of increasing barakah for yourself and the community!

Importance of charity (Sadaqah)

Ladies, we all know the importance of giving back to the community (whether small or large). Every step towards easing someone’s hardship is a blessing.

Sadaqah is a part of the five pillars of Islam for a reason! Participating in charity purifies the soul and allows Allah to protect us from calamities, while we build community.

Soooo, Veiled Visionaries hosted two charity events this winter.

Every month, we volunteer our time and effort at different locations. Join Veiled Visionaries this month (insert link to volunteer form here), as we give back to the community through service and compassion.

LET’S SEE HOW IT WENT →

DECEMBER VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY

TIME & LOCATION:

On December 18, 2025, we hosted a hunger volunteering event at Pots Bronx in the Bronx. The event ran for three and a half hours, starting at 12:00 PM and ending at 3:30 PM.

Official Address: POTS Bronx, 2759 Webster Avenue, Bronx, 10458

DETAILS:

  • The girls bagged food and groceries for the first hour and then served guests for the remainder of the shift.

  • Fresh water was distributed, utensils for every plate, and tables were cleaned for the next guest to come and sit down.

  • After the shift was over, the girls ensured to clean and mop the area, and placed everything back where it belonged. Pitchers were filled with fresh water and placed in the refrigerator.

Veiled Visionaries is not doing this as a one-time event; we hope to continue being charitable monthly! Ramadan is coming up, so this is a great opportunity to participate with us.

If you sign up on the form, you will automatically be updated by email on all future events (even if you end up missing one). 💕

Let’s check out what we were up to in January →

January Volunteer Opportunity

TIME & LOCATION:

On January 17, 2026, we hosted a meal service volunteer event at First Presbyterian Church. The event started at 1 PM and ended at 3:30 PM.

Official Address: First Presbyterian Church (12 W 12TH st, New York, NY, 10011) entrance on 5th Ave between 11th and 12th St

DETAILS:

  • The afternoon shift involved serving our guests and cleaning up after the meal service.

  • We encouraged volunteers to wear comfy clothes that they did not mind getting dirty (this was unlikely but possible), as well as a hat if they'd prefer that over a hair net, which we had available. All guests must HAVE also worn closed-toe shoes and couldn’t have their shoulders exposed (for food safety purposes)

  • We advised leaving any valuables at home as we did not have secure storage onsite, and we’d hate for anything to get lost or go missing.

As for the Dress Code We Advised:

  • Pants (no shorts)

  • Shirts with sleeves (short sleeves are fine, no tank tops)

  • Closed-toe shoes

  • Baseball cap (if working in the kitchen or dining room)

  • We will provide hairnets if you do not have a cap!

Once again, if you would like to participate, please click the link above.

We would like to share our immense gratitude to everyone who has participated so far! We look forward to seeing you again, as well as meeting new faces. 🥰

Until next time,
