You may or may not have an idea of what you would like to pursue in life. Some of you may not even know career trajectories outside of traditional career paths we grow up hearing like a doctor, lawyer, or engineer. Don’t you worry veiled besties because we’ve got your back!
Veiled Visionaries collaborated with City Tutors on January 23 over Zoom. City Tutors has a mentorship program that connects CUNY students with alumni and students with industry professionals. The event was called Telling Your Story: Careers, Clarity & Well-Being A Cross-Industry Mentorship. We heard from people who work in a plethora of industries such as international business, hospitality agriculture, software engineering, human resources, and so much more.
AND THE BEST PART IS…. YOU DID NOT HAVE TO BE A CUNY STUDENT TO JOIN THE EVENT

WHO WAS THE SESSION FOR?
The session was for students and recent graduates from schools across New York, as well as CUNY alumni. Specifically, the aim was to aid individuals navigating uncertainty, career transitions, and early to mid-career decisions. Participants heard from professionals across industries and connected directly with them in small-group breakout rooms.
Professionals shared stories about how they navigated uncertainty and career transitions, especially those with various legal statuses. Participants learned how to communicate their stories with confidence and leave the Zoom call event with clearer next steps and practical guidance.
